Quicken.Com Portfolio

Yes I have a Mac, I am very disappointed. There was no communication from Intuit about them scrapping my old portfolio watch list with it's custom columns. It just went out with a message saying that it would be back up during the week of Aug. 18th.

I agree, Quicken/Intuit in their desire to gain more adherents has lost the old. I loved the old ability to just see my stocks and what they've done today was perfect for me. No one else had that feature. I've heard it said that new and better often turns old users off. At least at Ameritrade they allowed you to return to the old side, AFAIK they still do. Pretty disgusted with the Quicken crowd but what are you to do? Money is just as bad and I think the conversion effort is hideous. Also because I have Qdlx2007 I have to buy a new version again. They've already started offering me $20 US off the 2009 version, but I'll wait and see. Perhaps I don't need this feature and can just get some software to do the same thing, maybe even free software??? ;)

I've switched to yahoo.com and now no longer use Quicken.com. It takes a little whiile to re-set-up your Portfolio, but it's worth the effort. A lot more flexability and you can once again easily link to the Yahoo details for any given stock.

This was a major step for me because I had been using Quicken.com for many years.

You are correct, Quicken allowed you to click on a stock symbol and go to Yahoo quotes. Now that I have used the Yahoo site for over a week, I find it to be much better than Quicken.com. Very flexible and allows downloads to excel. Good luck.
