Quicken database and Crystal Reports

Does anyone have any experience trying to format a Quicken database using Crystal Reports 2008? I have read that it is possible when the data is from QuickBooks but need to know about Quicken. Thank you.

Quickbooks and Quicken are very different animals.

The database in both are proprietary and I am not sure anybody has ever hacked the Quicken database format. Quicken changes the database for each version of Quicken, or at least makes them not compatible with earlier versions.

Once a Quicken data file has been converted to the newer program, it will not work in earlier versions of Quicken.

Quickbooks can convert Quicken Data to Quickbooks format, but Quicken can not convert QuickBooks data to Quicken.

Crystal Reports does not get mentioned very often here or in the QuickBooks newsgroup. there is a forum here:

for CR that might be a better place for you to ask your question.

Thank you, Laura. I would have gone to SAP first but the standard answer is the "we don't offer support for other software" and, frankly, SAP (Crystal Reports) has abysmal support to begin with. I will try the forum and appreciate your reply.

Another thought would be to contact these folks here:

They work primarily with QuickBooks but they might have some ideas for you.
