Quicken Essentials for Mac: couple of questions

Hi.

Anyone using Quicken Essentials for Mac? I don't want to go into the laundry list of what it doesn't have because it actually looks as if it might work for me, I do need to check two things beforehand though:

  1. Does it still have the account graph, ie. in calendar view can I still show a graph at the bottom giving current and future balances?
  2. Is it internationalised, ie. could I have Sterling as my account dominations?

That's about it really. Any news on those would be welcome. I'm really

-not- interested in hearing how it's rubbish because of x, y, z - I've looked at the feature set online and if it has those it's enough for me to be using. If not, I'll stick with Quicken 2002 for Windows running under VMware.

Cheers, Ian

Yes, I am using it. On my third day.

  1. I don't see the account graph you are looking for. Might be there, but I don't see it. Please be advised that in my view, the reporting is really kind of weak. Very.

  1. It is not internationalized as best I can see. It really seems to be intended for domestic US use. I also will NOT accept gif files on import, only gfx.

That's a shame - it really is only that graph that's keeping me on Quicken 2002. It's the feature I use more than any other.

....and that more or less kills it too. Ah well, have stuck with Quicken 2002 for a long time now but it might be time for me to start looking elsewhere. I could virtualise, but 2002 was the last official release for the UK market so I'm wary of upgrading to later Windows versions too.

A shame, but looks like I need to do some research for alternatives or admit to myself I'll be using Quicken 2002 more or less forever.

Cheers, Ian
