Anyone running Quicken (PC Version) on a Mac?

Before you flame me, no, I'm not asking about Quicken Essentials for Mac and I'm not talking about Q for Mac 2007.

I'm talking about running a current, full PC version of Quicken... on a Mac, using either a dual boot method or a Virtual Environment under Mac (called Parallels).

From what I understand, Macs will support Windows apps with two methods:

1) Dual boot mode, where you boot with Windows 2) Parallels - where you still boot Mac, but can launch PC apps from the Mac equivalent to the Windows Desktop.

I know Apple says it possible. I just want to get direct feedback from someone who's actually doing it, preferably with Parallels. My research tells me that's the way I'd like to run it.

I've been a PC user for a long, long time, but I want to consider Apple.

Thx, Bartt

I've been running this way for quite some time as well, since VirtualPC on the G5 in fact. Parallels and VMWare are the two commercial ones to consider, but it's also worth trialling it with VirtualBox, an open source virtualisation package.

I used Crossover for a bit but had font hassles - admittedly I was running with quite an old version of Quicken though. There's also Darwine, another port of WINE to the Mac like Crossover, which is free though harder to configure.

I use VMware myself - my reason is that VMware is fond quite often on PCs or Linux, so I can transport the same virtual machine and use it on any platform. Parallels often seems to get the nod on raw performance, though this changes once every few months as new versions of each come out.

Cheers, Ian
