Quicken Relase 5 - for Security Hole
Hi, Gordon.
Thanks for that link.
Note that if you are running 64-bit WinXP or Vista, the "Common Files" subfolder referred to in A3 (the answer to Q3) will be in C:\Program Files (x86), rather than in C:\Program Files. In my Vista, the file version is shown on the Details tab of Properties; there is no Version tab there.
My file versions were 4.0.0.101 for AWAPI4.dll and 5.0.0.7 for AWAPI5.dll, so "the security patch has been applied" and I'm good to go. ;
"...The risk involves AnswerWorks software, which is licensed from Vantage and developed on Microsoft's ActiveX platform. ..."
Well, that's the problem: ActiveX (the Mother Of All Security Exploit Vectors) is used. I would have thought that Microsoft would have put ActiveX to a quiet death by now.
