Quick Tax 2007 & Quicken?

Just a head's up, apparently Intuit has REDUCED the number of returns that can be prepared with Quicktax 2007. It looks like Quicktax now gives only TWO (2) returns for the upfront money. Extra returns can be purchased within the software package....but I have no idea how much extra returns cost. Seems to me last year's version (2006) included FIVE (5) returns.

Hell, I recall using the 99 Quicktax to prepare many dozens of returns for profit. I think the first 30 were included in the initial cost plus another

I will be looking at UFILE. Has anyone had experience with this program? The description on their website say that it can read data from Quicktax file. Also it probably wouldn't hurt to contact CRA. They are promoting the use of tax preparation software and e-filing Maybe we should be pressing them to either provide some incentive for other developers or develop there own program. If CRA had a simple program that could be downloaded and then used for e-filing many people would use it. It might even save them substantial amount in printing costs if they did not have to provide all those tax packages.

If you are considering buying - DON"T Quicken 2008 has issues with cross currency. Seems Intuit dropped a major feature that most Canadians need. And DON'T buy Quicktax 2007 yet. I have been fighting to get it running for 1 week now. Installs and activates, then refuses to launch. At least wait till they have their phone number working. Email support is NOT 24 x 7.

It is down to 2 returns. Additional returns cost $10 for Basic version, $15 for others.

Me thinks - It is time to start looking for alternatives to Quicktax. I have been using Q forever now.

Quicktax 2008 has some major issues. I am giving it a miss!
