What transpired that made two different Quickens ? What was done to deny Canadians access to the USA Quicken site , where for example one could access and profile stocks ? Was it a corporate thing ? It'd be interesting to know.

There has been a separate Canadian version of Quicken for many years now. There are enough differences between the banking systems, terminology, etc in both countries to justify separate versions.

Yes. You can visit, but you can never join.
It has to do with your software. If you bought Quicken 2004 or 5 or 6 in Canada, you simply cannot complete the joining to log in in AMerica. Therefore you are denied the features of the site such as stock researching .
It is the opposite of Hotel California !
