I recently put a password on my Quicken 2004 data files, since they reside on my laptop... just in case it walks away :)
Too bad that Turbotax does not have the same password concept... supply a password to access the tax file, since it has all the really good info

Just how secure is that password anyway? Are you sure it's really safe? Consider using serious encryption to lock the file up tight, such as PGP/GPG, if you're truly worried about it.

Seriously, though, the concern these days is how an outside computer can gain access to your computer via viruses, worms and spyware/malware. The way I've seen systems set up, they *should* be concerned about people being able to access files on their computer without their knowledge...
