qw not responding

Mar 25, 2006 2 Replies

Hope someone can help. I get the idea that my attempt to load NAV 2005 has hurt my Quicken files.

I had to back out of NAV because I couldn't do ANYTHING and response from NAV (NORTON Antivirus) was horrible.

My Quicken struggles to load, I reboot and it manages to open, but eventually it freezes and I have to reboot again.

Any suggestion?

Thanks Jeannie

Jeannie:

Not an expert, but do you have NAV set to examine every .exe you open? That might be overkill - esp. on a slower CPU. What may be happening is that NAV is checking quicken.exe when you click on it and quicken is probably trying to do its thing (open your data file) and the two are conflicting.

Check to see if you have NAV set to examine a file every time you click on it - if you want that functionality, then I think there is a way in NAV to exclude certain .exes - check the help and add quicken to the exclusion list.

hth!

check your system resources. I installed NIS 2006 and it uses alot of resources. when I open Q or Exel or even OE the programs run slow. I have to close out NIS to create and customize reports in Q.
