In Quicken XG 2005, is is possible to create a recurring alert?
what I would like to do is the following: every month, I would like to enter the Black book value of my vehicle in Quicken. But I would like Quicken to remind me every month of doing so. How do I go about doing this?

I use the US version of Quicken, so things may be different. But I know of no way to create a "recurring" calendar note, which is what it sounds like you are asking for.
But since the action you want to be reminded to do is to enter a transaction in Quicken; why not just setup a Scheduled Transaction for the account, put zero in the amount and ask Quicken to remind you to enter the transaction every month. When Quicken reminds you, look up the vehicle value, compute the transaction amount, and Enter the transaction.
