"File" has my main Quicken file and three other backups from way back. I deleted the old files, but they still show on the File menu. How can I clean them out?
Removing files from File List

Stubby,
You need to edit the Quser.ini file. Assuming that Quicken is installed in the default location, the file should be at:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Intuit\Quicken\Config (Note this location is based on Windows 7 and Quicken 2011. Depending on your OS and Quicken version, yours may be different, but the file name is probably the same). My recollection is that the "ini" file had another name for Quicken 2009 and earlier versions, but I do not remember the name. You could do a search for q*.ini, if necessary.
You may have to set your Windows Explorer view options to "show hidden files".
Open Quser.ini using "NotePad". You will see a "Recent File" section that you can then edit as desired.
Hope this helps.
