How to delete file name from home page list?

I have successfully deleted an old file, but the title or name of it still appears on that list of 4 files on my home page. How do I get rid of this?

If I can't get rid of it, does this mean I am never going to have 4 files again?

I have Quicken 2004, Windows XP.

Thanks, this is buggin' me.

You'll need to edit an q*.ini file. Use Windows Explorer to search for q*.ini (* represents wildcards). I don't remember the exact name for Quicken

2004, I have Quicken 2008. Once found the file can be opened using either notepad or WordPad. Review the file and you should see a list of files under [Recent File]. You can then delete the file reference in question. In Quicken 2008 the file containing this information is "QUSER.INI". Again, I believe that it may be named something else in Q2004. There aren't that many Quicken ini files so it should be easy to find. -- Richard

To address the question "If I can't get rid of it, does this mean I am never going to have 4 files again?", answer is NO. If you add more files, that list that you see is the last 4 that you've worked on. In other words, it will atrophy eventually if indeed you have more files that you've more recently used.
