Saturday Quotes

I'm using Quicken 2006 Premier (though I have seen this problem in Q 2005 P as well.

Anyone else seen a problem where Quicken will put a price entry in for a security on a date that is a saturday? I occasionally see this. The entry has the price the same as for friday and the min/max/volume is empty. It also weems to cause the portfolio screen to not show the prices right for the following Monday.

I have seen the same thing. Also, I have also notice that if I have a one step update, and DO NOT request quotes, I still get them for only my Fidelity accounts for that day.

There are several ways that your fi can download quotes for the securities you hold there - none of them have anything to do with the Quicken price/historical-price downloads.

any ideas on how to "block" these Fidelity price quotes when I do not request them?

No.

If you have no price in your price history for a specific security for a given date and you download a transaction for that date that involves a price for that security, you are going to have your price history updated. It has always been that way. (Same is true if you manually enter the same transaction).

If the prices are coming from separate holdings records in the download, I know of nothing you can do about that either.
