Download Quotes ??

I received a download @ 9:56 am this morning (12/24). Since then, quotes will not transfer.

Also, I noticed in reading some the articles, everyone seems feel the cause is Quicken and it's server. However, when you look at the bottom of your investment page, it has quotes being provided by Comstock and historicals by Iverson. Curious if anyone has investigated these two sites when encountering stock quote download issues.

I get no quotes at 4:00 pm EST, the market has been closed for an hour, and it appears the entire Quicken financial network is down. Just now I can't even get any of the Quicken/Intuit site up in a browser. Maybe Intuit forgot this was a market day and sent everyone home for a merry Christmas.

No quotes for me tonight at all either. This is one of the most flakey, unreliable features of Quicken. I really don't care who provides the quote data to Quicken. It is their program and it is their problem to fix it or stop advertising it as a feature of the software. Yahoo, Etrade, and many others have no problem at all in getting quotes day after day after day.

I've managed to get the quotes to download even when they don't come thru using One Step Update. I'm using Q07 Premier R5. What's odd is that almost every time quotes fail, my mutual funds get updated, but my stocks do not. Occasionally nothing comes through, but most times it fails it fails only for stocks.

To get the quotes to come through for the stocks, I click on one of the stock names in the portfolio view to get the "Security Detail View" to come up. From there I select "Update --> Download Quotes". The security detail view minimizes and the One Step Update status screen comes up. When it goes away the stock quotes show up. I would say this has worked for me almost every time when the quotes didn't come through on my initial one-step update. I can only remember one time when it still failed after doing that. (Interestingly enough, selecting "Download Historical Prices" from the portfolio view didn't has never worked to resolve this.)

I would be interested in anyone else having this problem gives this a try and gets the quotes to come through.

Gary

It just happened to me again. Tried to download and got mutual funds, but no stocks. I tried what I explained in my previous post and it worked again.

Go figure.
