Security Changes

This is not necessarily Quicken oriented, but it may affect it in the future. For several years I have used RoboForm to automatically fill in logins and passwords, with great convenience. Recently though I find that it doesn't work with a few financial sites. It seems that now those sites change the name of the input fields every time they are used so that RoboForm can't find the ones it has memorized. You can stll paste into the fields (I use TrayClip), but it's not as convenient as it used to be. I assume that this will affect all the password savers.

Might try PasswordSafe. It has an autotype capability. It types and tabs though the fields per a predefined sequence. It's not as smart as Roboform seems to be, but sometimes simple is ok.

There is new security with President's Choice MasterCard here in Canada. The username and password are constant, in which I 'fill and submit' with RoboForm. The next page is "User Authentication". The first time there, I was asked one of 3 questions. eg: 'City you were born in.' You enter the information and RoboForm asks if you want to save the info. You say 'yes', BUT do NOT replace the previous information that you first signed in with. I believe RoboForm then asks what you want to save the new info as, and I just named it "No. 1-City Born In" The next time you sign in to that site it will in all probability ask a different question. "Father's Middle Name". Save without replacing any previous info as "No 2- Father's Middle Name." and so on.

Every time I go to that website, I right-click and there are (now) 4 possible selections. The top one is 'PCmastercard' which has priority since I'm just signing in. Then it goes to the User Authentication page. I see what the question is, right-click and select the appropriate answer and 'fill form'. Bingo, that's all there is to it.

Hope this helps.

I do similar for the sites that require more than 1 step. I just have to watch out with Vanguard, because at the second screen "Fill & Submit" will "hit" the cancel button instead of submit, so I have to choose fill, and manuallly (Aw Shucks!) hit the submit button.
