still no luck with QHI

Well, I see the net worth reports continue to carry the home inventory balance which I had before upgrading from Q06 to Q09... and the quicken directory does have the qhi.exe but I'm unable to launch "qhi classic" from either the directory or from within Q09D.

In reviewing the Q09 help files I didn't see reference to the old "classic" qhi just the new stand-alone product.

I'm running this on WinXP pro... Does anyone know what might prevent the qhi classic from launching?

TIA Tom

I have Q09D installed on XP Pro (SP3). I have a qhi.exe in my Q09 directory. When I run it from either Explorer or Start/Run it launches and brings up my old Inventory File. What happens when you do that? In Q09 you want to look in the Net Worth Menu not the Net Worth Tab. I happen to also have Quicken Home Inventory Manager (their newer product) installed. [That's a separate story...] My Inventory Option is it (the QHIM) because it sees it installed (I presume). I could be wrong but I'd expect you to see the "old" Inventory Option. Geo.

When I open up Quicken Home Inventory Manager on the menu (under Net Worth) it opens a QHI.DB file. Mine is empty as I do not use that functionality.

It's the older version of the program as the About Window states 1993 to

1999. I can also open the program directly. I also do not have their newer product installed. I am using Q2009D operating under Vista Ultimate.

I have the same set-up

yes, a qhi.exe is in my Q09 directory...

I have tried to launch from Explorer, Start/run and from within the Quicken program... in each case the hourglass appears for about one second as though the qhi is about to launch...then it just stops... it doesn't freeze up, the hourglass just goes away.

yes, I see this option for "home inventory" when I drill down the Net Worth Menu...but I get the action I described above when I click on it...

I found a quicken forum posting describing this problem with a quicken H&B installation... that user found a conflict between quicken and Logitech set-point software... I have the same Logitech software, now disabled, and the qhi program launches as expected... Tom
