Suddenly, Investment Accounts are coming up $0!!!

Subject: Suddenly, Investment Accounts are coming up $0!!!

Hi all:

Today I opened my family's Quicken file. It came up in the modified "Main View" as it always does, but....

1) There seemed to be much hard drive thrashing about as the hourglass symbol next to the mouse arrow kept flashing for up to a minute or so.

2) When things settled down several of my Investment Accounts were indicating a $0 balance under the "Quicken Home" column on the right side of the screen.

Other interesting factoids:

1)The main window of the "Summary" tab for each account shows the correct current Market Value for the account.

2)The Main View shows the correct current market value for each account under the "Current Balance" column but shows $0 under the "Ending Balance" column.

3)Although the main window of the "Summary" tab for each account shows the correct current Market Value for each account the section titled "Account Status" shows a "SECURITY VALUE" WHICH IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE "CASH BALANCE" IN THE ACCOUNT, BUT WITH A NEGATIVE VALUE.

(Sorry to shout, but this seems to be the source of the erroneous summary figures.)

I've Super Validated the file, with no improvement.

Anybody have any thoughts on the problem?

TIA.

To sum up my comments in the Intuit/Quicken forum: have you checked your price history for future zero prices and/or corrupt price records? (Often not found by validate/super-validate).
