upgrading 2000 to 2002

My bank has recently ceased sending ofx files that are appropriate to Quicken 2000, saying that their files are for 2001 onwards.

I had a 2002 disk and upgraded thinking that I would be in range. and duly saved my "2001 onwards" file into the oxfdata sub directory of Quicken as I had always done in the past. However Quicken 2002 will not accept the data. It says that I am registered with the bank etc, as indeed I am because I have been downloading and using these files for 5 years. However it tried to connect to the Internet and then said QL-249A error. I tried setting the firewall to "Allow All" but this did not help.

Unless anyone knows differently, it looks as though I will have to revert to entering my bank details manually again, unless I wish to subscribe annually to later editions of Quicken.

Such is progress.

Incidentally 2002 does load each identity's files from the disk much quicker. I think it must use compression.

Current versions of Quicken provide a license of 3 years for online services. It doesn't really matter what your bank does, unless it affects your ability to donload with one of the current versions.

If you upgrade to 2002, I don't believe you will be able to download anyway and if you can, it won't be for much longer.

If you want to continue downloading your bank details online, you will need to get used to upgrading at least every 3 years.
