Urgent please, Date & Year only in Date column

Quicken 2014 Deluxe

The subject line says it all. Everything has been working fine. When I op ened Quicken today instead of showing the month, day, and year in the Date column as normal it is now only displaying the month and year and not the d ay of past or new transactions. If it makes any difference there is no spa ce or comma in the field and the month is always displayed in a 3 letter ab breviation. For example, it says: Jun2017. Tried restoring my last backup and it displayed the same way even though it was fine at the time it was b acked up. If it makes any difference Quicken now displays it this way in a ll account, credit cards as well as checking. Needless to say, HELP IS NEE DED ASAP as I cannot tell accurately when a transaction took place.

Thanks in advance... Bob

PUtting the cursor in the header area, more the margins of the date field, making it wide enough for all the elements.

Quicken is dependent on an appropriate Windows short date format (for examp le, M/d/yyyy).

Widening the column doesn't help.

This is really crazy. Everything I've described is when accessing the Quic ken data file from my computer. The data file is actually stored on my wif e's computer on our home network. When opening Quicken from her computer e verything is fine, the date column shows as it should! We have used this s etup for many years so Quicken is definitely capable of doing it this way. Does anyone have any ideas???

As Sherlock already told you, "Quicken is dependent on an appropriate Windows short date format ....".

The Windows date format can be different on each of your computers, hence it can appear differently when your data file is accessed from a different computer.

Change the Short data format on the pc where the Quicken date is causing you problems, to be the same as the Short date format on the pc where the Quicken date is as you like it.

Hooray! Hooray! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Making them both agree did it! I wonder how they could have gotten changed.

Love, Bob
