What's new in Quicken H &B 2007?

I found an inexpensive copy of Home and Business 2007 and upgraded from 2006. Haven't used it much but can't see anything dramatically different. Am I missing something?

For me, the most important feature introduced in 2007 was Express Web Connect, which allows One Step Update of Web Connect accounts.

Yes, if you do a qfx download from a web site to Quicken, often that can be automated in Q2007 so the download behaves much like Fidelity's Direct Connect. Who issues your Visa?

Yup, I can understand how Q2007 would be sluggish on older computers. Vista has been great for me, on a new machine, of course. I think you may be pleasantly surprised when you do make the leap.

I'm awaiting the new Lenovo S10 to supplement/replace my X61s. That will be coming with XP Home, but with a 10" screen I don't think it would work as a primary machine.

Bob,

I know I should know what a Web Connect account is, but I don't. I have been downloading my usual way from Wachovia, Smith Barney, and Fidelity. Does this possibly refer to accounts like Visa? I can initiate a connection to the Visa site from within quicken, but still have to manually go thru the steps to download the data. Or maybe not?...

BTW, one thing that's different is the speed. It really drags on my ancient computer with 512Mb. I won't even tell you the architecture or chip speed out of embarassment. Every day my first thought is "you must get a new computer" but I so much don't want Vista that I'm dragging my feet.

Log into your Chase Visa account. Go to the Customer Center tab. Then under Reference Center, click on "Activate Money, Quicken, etc."

Then deactivate your current Web Connect in Quicken. Re-activate for download and you should be on Direct Connect.

Good luck! Bob

Bob,

It's a Chase Visa. Now where do I find out how to setup this kind of account so that it will behave like a Direct Connect account?
