We all knew this was coming. QuickBooks Desktop will no longer be sold to new subscribers after September 30, 2024.
I didn't upgrade on the three-year cycle. I use the payroll feature manually, entering tax rates myself, and I live without the bank feeds. However, links to help pages don't work, so I usually find the help text on the Intuit Web site. I assume all these Help pages will be taken down.
I won't use QuickBooks on line; it's an entirely different product. I have real concerns about privacy of my books, and the idea of subscriptio software to maintain access to critical files is unwelcome.
Am I the last Desktop user?
I'm also using GnuCash but it would take a big effort to make it work for nonprofit books.
Years ago, there was a programming team being paid to develop bookkeeping software for the nonprofit industry. Alas the project was abandoned.
