Really? File > Import Financial Information does not accept a QIF file?

Actually, in TaxCut (2007 Prem+State), no, File/Import Financial does not offer QIF. It only offers MS$, Qkn, TXF and DeductionPRO. My Qkn 2006Dlx exports to TXF and TC successfully imported it. What does "... for some reason I am no longer able to import from .txf files ...." mean? Make a new TC File (using last year's data or not) and export/import again. What happens? Geo.

The tech support gang said that I need to enter each transaction by hand. If that's the best answer guess which tax program I will be buying next year.

I am looking for txf file import, which previous versions supported. Using Quicken I save my capital gains report in a txf file. But since TaxCut won't accept txf files I am stuck having to enter each transaction by hand.

What kind of file does TaxCut accept? (I have never used TaxCut so I don't know).

Quicken (at least the 2006 version I am using) can export the Cap. Gains report in TurboTax (txf) format, plain text (txt) format, and MS Excel (xls) format.

Perhaps TC can accept one of these formats or a bit of processing with a global text editor can change the txt file into a space or comma delimited file.

I have quicken 2008 and export my capital gains to a .txf file. In Quicken 2008 - Reports\Tax\Capital Gains\Export Data and select "Report to Tax Export File. This gives you the opportunity to save all your capital transactions as a .txf ( Iassume early versions of Quicken work the same way)

In Taxcut, select Import\Quicken and enter the file name you saved above.

I have personally done that and filed electronically on 3/13 and had my refund credited to my checking account on 3/28 so I know it works.

If Taxcut won't let you import a .txf file using the above procedures, than you may want to re-install the program

Nonsense: Use the "Other program..." option of TaxCut. It worked for me.

As others have also suggested - it should work. You must be leaving something out. TC has exported to Qkn and Qkn imported from TC "forever". I've used them both since TC '96 with Qkn99 thru TC2007 and Qkn2006. Again, exactly what are you doing and exactly what is happening? What version of both are you using? G. Geo.
