Intuit recently announced that TurboTax Desktop software will not be supported on Windows 10 after October 14, 2025 for tax year 2025.
*** You will not be able to install or use TurboTax Desktop 2025 on Windows 10. ***
To run TurboTax Desktop software for tax year 2025 on Windows, you must be running Windows 11 (but see note in paragraph 5 below).
No mention is made of an exception for Windows 10 users who have opted to sign up for ESU (Extended Security Updates), which will provide critical and important security updates to Windows 10 users after October 14, 2025, but only for one year.
From what I've read, TurboTax has a policy of not running on any OS that has stopped receiving security updates. NOTE: This presumably will include Windows 11 23H2, which will no longer receive updates after November 11, 2025.
TurboTax Online, which will work on any supported browser, will still be available for the 2025 tax year and beyond, including for Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Mac OS 11.0, Mac OS X 10.15, Mac OS X 10.14, iOS 12.X, Android 7.X and Chromebook. Supported browsers include Firefox, Edge, Chrome, Opera and Safari.
