The TurboTax Desktop 2025 program for tax year 2025 is not able to run or even be installed on computers running Windows 10 or earlier Windows versions, according to Intuit. This change was effective October 14, 2025.
And no, it does not matter if you are running Windows 10 and have signed up for the Windows 10 consumer ESU (Extended Security Updates) program, which provides only security updates for one year through October 13,
2026, or if you signed up for the ESU program for commercial and educational organizations, which can run for up to three years.
If you choose to continue running Windows 10, you can still use TurboTax Online if you wish.
