response from the board

I've had to change my "From" email as shown above. So now I get a nice "thank you" for posting response from some guy named "devnull". Who is he? And perhaps he's related to " snipped-for-privacy@yahoo.com?"

I might have to change my moniker to "anonnymus".

"devnul," aka "file 13," aka "the bit bucket," is where electronic files go when they no longer exist. devnul is know for its ironic sense of humor, particularly when composing email responses.

Which is exactly where I sent it, to the trash bin. (grin)

I think that Mr. "Devnull will continue to chat with you until "you tell Mr. Adams to change your address on his white list.

Please just read what the auto-response message actually says (you guys will drive the robo-moderation administrator nuts otherwise):

"If you do not want to receive automatic acknowledgments in the future, please send a message (its contents are irrelevant) to snipped-for-privacy@asktax.org."

In other words, Mr. Devnull asks that you contact his secretary Mr. Noack to make your wishes known, he will then obey them. Since you changed your name, he doesn't know it's still you. It has nothing to do with the fast-approval list.

You don't even have to say anything to Mr. Noack, just ringing him up will do the trick -- he's a secretary with only one job in life, so it's easy for him to do the right thing every time. Attempts to contact Mr. Devnull directly will be ignored, and in fact even if Mr. Devnull wanted to contact you, he would be forced by his very nature to hang up as soon as you answered.

I've done that twice, but they keep coming.

Ah, maybe I was sending it from the wrong email address. I'll try it again.
