Very First Federal Tax Return

This is the first year my daughter will be filing a federal tax return. She is trying to e-file and is required to provide a prior year AGI or PIN number. She tried to file using an AGI of 0, but the return was rejected. Is it possible to e-file your first return?

I would never want the fear of the IRS to prevent any taxpayer from claiming allowed refunds.

I'm not an expert on this, but I think that's just for paperless e-filing. Is the software allowing her the option to e-file the return and mail in the attestation form?

If there's a stimulus check this year, filing a return may be a good way to guarantee the stimulus check. I'm not sure if they will send a stimulus check if no return was filed, but taxes were withheld.

What's this??? A stimulus check again THIS year?

First I've heard of it.

maybe we should talk about how last year's checks has influenced this year's tax season and the grief it's caused taxpayers and pros alike in processing. Here's hoping "they" won't do us any more favors.
