Barclaycard offering 0% APR on balance transfers forever!

I've checked the T&Cs for this card and it appears to stack up. You do a balance transfer to the card and as long as you use it to spend at least 25 a month, your transfer rate will stay at 0% forever, until it is paid off. They seem to distringuish between transfer balances and your standard balance (ie, purchases) so there doesn't appear to be an issue of using your monthly repayment to offset against the cheapest rated items first and then start stacking interest on the other more expensive interest rated items.

Also look at the small print, ISTR they charge something like 2% "handling fee" for balance transfers ...

Incidentally, I noticed a card (Co-op I think) which charges £10 a *month*, but with an interest rate equal to the base rate, which is an interesting variation.

Those type of offers are getting close to cons if you ask me. It appears that it amounts to "0% balance transfer" on condition that we charge you 15,20,25% (or whatever) on other bits that we will tell you in the small print that you mightn't bother to read about. I'm guessing that this type of offer won't stay around too long, eventually someone is going to complain to whoever you complain about these things too, and the practise will be banned.

The T&C's must have changed, when this first came out the minimum spend was just 1 per month . See the article in
