Cahoot or ING ?

Jul 20, 2004 8 Replies

Some advice would be appreciated please.

I have seen some comments in this group about ING and others (Less though) about Cahoot.

I have about 20K spare that needs to stay easily accessible.

Cahoot who I have been with for a couple of years is offering 4.1% paid monthly.

ING who I have just opened an account with is offering 4.7% paid monthly.

To me ING looks the better deal but any advice would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

Andy

Andy - Cahoot are offering 5.5% on their Savings account. If you already have a savings account, you can open a second one - This would be the best rate for your savings.

Thanks, I thought it was only an introductory rate for newcomers, guess it is time to try that then.

Andy

Yes, but interest on the new account is paid annually, whereas it is monthly on the old account.

Thanks I did notice that. Either way I am in no rush so providing they stay in business :-) annually will do for me.

Put in in premium bonds and you may just win 1million. on average the maximum stake of 30k will achieve 15 wins of between 50 and

1million, so I guess 20k would be 10 wins. And you can get your money back within 8 working days. :o)

Thanks, I already have 30k in Premium Bonds :-) (You never know)

Andy

Out of interest - and this is a serious question, not flippancy - have you had any wins?

I have only had them 3 weeks so far so not yet. I am monitoring the thread "Premium Bond Diary" and will add any wins to that thread (I hope)

Just sold a spare house so trying to spread the gains around.
