Known as 'sub-prime' lenders and you'll end up paying a lot more interest than with a regular lender.

Yes Car Credit are well known for charging much too much for cars which are far from the best quality, and putting a lot of pressure on buyers to sign up.

But if you need to borrow and you have a bad history I guess you're stuck. Best advice: buy the cheapest car you can find.

How does one rebuild their credit rating?

Get credit and don't mess it up this time. You can do this - Capital one for instance do low-limit credit cards specifically for this purpose, you could get a contract mobile phone , they'd require a deposit, but if you pay your bills on time then this also rebuilds your credit rating. Loads of other ways, including pay off all your debts first. Google is your friend...

Would it be LHD and bearing the german equivalent of an MoT (which as I understand it, is much more rigorous than ours...) ?

That's what I thought. They're not really interested in anything that doesn't involve driving sideways at 120mph.

In news: snipped-for-privacy@4ax.com, snipped-for-privacy@quickwatchsales.com decided to enlighten our sheltered souls with a rant as follows

Er, no. It'd be RHD and getting the proper Mot.

If you want something cheap, LHD, and with a full TuV, I'm sure that could also be arranged depending on whereabouts in Germany you'd like it :-p

I didn't say that Top Gear did mention it, did I?

I was implying it was a petrolhead phrase. The kind of thing a dedicated Top Gear watcher would know.

LOL!!!!

The programme really is utter garbage - they seem to have two questions - how long it takes them to get round their silly test track, and how quickly it gets from 0-60 mph.

There really is a lot more to cars than that!!
