CCJs: obtaining full details from court reference?

Oct 28, 2005 2 Replies

If I have the raw details of a CCJ - debtor's name, debt value, court case reference details - is there somewhere online where I can track down more complete information? Such as the name of the plaintiff, nature of the debt etc? Presumably court records are in the public domain, somehwere? Darned if I can find them though...

Thanks David

You may need to apply to the court involved, BICBW.

Thanks - just tried that; the recorded message before they pick up states you have to know the case reference number before they'll talk to you cos they aren't a search service... Ok, fine... so I get to speak to someone, and give them the appropriate number; but they won't/can't give me any more info than I already have (see above) due to data protection issues.

Am I incorrect in assuming that this stuff would be in the public domain, then?
