What about if there is no *physical* certificate - when the official certificate is simply a PDF file on a computer somewhere (as with modern incorporations online) ? Give them a picture of the PC??!!

The information on the certificate merely states the name of the company, date and place of registration, and reg. no.
If this is the info you want to know, you can find it at companes house online. The piece of paper tells you less than the website, as this tells much more info in the free section, such as place of business, official document dates and trading year, etc.. For a small fee, you can get much more info.
