Any advice on getting a cheap Company Secretary for a newly formed Ltd company.
I have one already but they are in Dublin and cannot come over to the UK to sign for my business bank account.

I'll do it.
Me too ;o).
Or you could just send them the form via the post, I presume you only mean they have to sign for the initial bank application.
Natwest want the Company Secretary to present themselves to the branch with ID. Sending by post isn't enough for the bank
and Natwest doesn't have a branch in Dublin?
How strange!!
The Banks don't take your word for who the Co Sec is, they get the info from Companies House. So you'd have to appoint someone and then wait for all the bumf to be processed before you can wheel them into the Bank to sign.......
To be honest it would be easier to get them on the shuttle from Dublin for an afternoon.
Can't you just wheel in a stooge off the street? I mean make him co sec with all the formalities, get him to show the bank his Boy Scout badge, and then once the account is up and running, have a board meeting and resolve to replace the scout with the Irishman?
Yeah I wanted to get them over but they won't come because they have no time. I was not impressed...
I have actually helped a company through this and it ended up as a nightmare. The guy appointed his Mum as Co Sec and thought his problems were over. Sent off the consumer credit license with his Mum on and trudged her into the Bank.
Turns out Mum had a bad credit history so the Bank said no, and so did the Consumer Credit people.
So you need not only a stooge, but an upright pillar of the community stooge, willing to put their name to your new start up :-)
As I say, get the dude on the shuttle !

Used to have a girl from the local council estate as my secretary, she was cheap!
Any fringe benefits? :)
You have to watch these girls from council estates...
