debt clearance

We have been a pproced by a company who say they can clear our debt problem by one of two methods.

1) they ask the company to supply copy of the origional aggreement, if they cant do this the debt is wiped clean
2) if they do supply the origional, thier lawyers examine it for flaws, They want to charge initial consultation fee of £80, and at a later date if they have a case £200 Dont get me wrong I dont welsh out on debts but this debt company have realy taken us to the cleaners and although we have stopped the interest and agreed terms, it would take a life time to clear. as they keep adding various charges.

Does any one know of this type of company, are they genuine?

They are genuine but a rip-off. They don't do anything for you that you can't do yourself, or give you any advice that you can't get for free. They are purely a commercial organisation which exists to make money for themselves, and they do so by targetting the vulnerable.

That being the case, they are the last thing you should be looking to spend money on at the moment - you would be far better off talking to your local CAB or looking at a reputable online source.

You can ask for a copy of the original agreement yourself without paying them anything.
