EU Jet bust - update

For those who followed the earlier thread "EU Jet bust" and were interested in the outcome - it appears I have been refunded the full amount paid for a ticket bought with a debit card.

Which is a great way to end the week.

A big thank you and well done to the EU Jet administrators. And a better luck next time to EU Jet and its employees.

awesome - congratulations.

Out of interest, do you know if the money came from the debit card company or EU Jet?

The item appeared as a debit from EU Jet, so fingers crossed for all the others out there (including my parents, who also paid by debit card! (over

100)).

I wonder if they were putting this money in a seperate bank account for the last few weeks before they went bust (so the directors couldnt be prosecuted for trading whilst insolvent?). Would be a refreshing change if this happened, pity Tiny Computers didnt do the same.

I'm afraid that the only information I know is that the item appeared as "DEB EU Jet IE" on my internet banking statement. What this means technically, I don't know.

I assume that was a Visa Delta debit card, not Maestro/Switch?

On my Lloyd's TSB current account DEB indicates a debit card transaction.

Thanks, looks like a straight refund then.

Aye.

Out of interest, would Maestro/Switch be treated any differently then?

Yes - you'd have had far less protection with a Maestro/Switch debit card.

Just to note: My parents also got their refund too. It seems like they're doing well in the administration process...
