It often says on the bill - words to the effect of: "if paying by {specified method} allow {X} days to meet the payment deadline".
Paying by transcash or by swiping a payment card/barcoded bill?
In either event (providing in the former case you do it early enough for it to be despatched the same day) it should normally be in the company's account the next working day. How long it will then take them to process the credit against your bill is another matter. At least another day. The automated process should be quicker in this case. Allow the time it says on the bill.
Its a swip payment card from my housing association.
