How to interpret a credit check

I've taken the opportunity to request a DPA report from Equifax telling me all the details they have on file relating to me. No great shocks but they don't go out of their way to explain the info so I was wondering if anyone here knows how to interpret the monthly status field. I'm assuming it relates to whether payments were made on time.

For example, what would UUU000 mean? And how about 000.0uu01?

What about 0002101000?

Also, do these things run chronologically left to right, ie if a 1 appears at the end of a list of zeros did the 1 event happen before or after the zeros? TIA.

UUU means 3 months unrecorded info sent to experion/equifax

000 means 3 months of payments up to date

1 means 1 month late the 2 being 2 months late

more detailed info of what U means (taken from creditexpert)

The lender has not been able to give the account a status for this month. This may be at the start of the credit agreement when the lender is allowing time for the account to be set up; when the customer has received the goods but payment is not due to start immediately; when there is a dispute over the payments due or the goods received; or when the account is not being used.

8 means The account is defaulted. You have failed to keep to your credit agreement and have not responded satisfactorily to requests to put your account in order. As a result the credit agreement has ended

D means The account is not being used - no amount is owed

? means The lender has not given a status to the account this month - no amount is owed

Thanks. Do you know what a full stop means, as in "000.0UU"?

I am fairly certain that the data protection act requires them to provide you with enough information to decode this.

Well they haven't included it in the information they've sent, so I guess I'll have to go chasing them.

I think that must be a mistake because they usually send a booklet with all that in.

Mind you, I did go for the cheap and cheerful DPA ?2 report, rather than the fancy premium charge report (which IIRC is delivered online instantly.)

They usually send the booklet with the cheapo two-quid report.

Oh, sounds like I've been short changed. I'll have to have a word. Ta.
