Iceland: 6th richest country in the world?

Someone just told me that Iceland is the 6th richest country in the world. I was incredulous, but did a quick google and came up with:

But that gives Iceland as having the 6th largest GDP per capita. That's not the same thing as being the 6th richest country is it?

Not quite, given that only 305k people live there.

It depends, if one is Icelandic then it's as good as. I see from Private Eye that Iceland is now attracting huge inward investment from energy intensive industries, because it has committed to a massive program of creating energy from geothermal and hydro. Zero carbon emissions means no "green" taxes on companies setting up business there.
