Indian call centres

Indian call centres !

I had a pickle of a problem today! One of my Two credit card ONLINE accounts was not working, so I called the 08457 number recommended by the bank. The LADY from Fife, near Edinburgh answered after 10 minutes of interminable button pushing ! "hi, my online credit card account is not working !"

"is it a Credit card or Debit card ? " "Credit card !" "card number"

****************** This line is for phone Queries only, so I will put you through to Online Help desk, Please wait ! after 3 minutes waiting, and running up a substantial amount of penny's, I decided to hang up and call again !

Second Time

This time another LADY (I called a Leeds number) answered ! I explained the problem and she took all the details and said this line is only for new applicants who want to transfer their balance. and I don't know what is the phone number for Online help desk. (eventhough it was right in front of her !)

Third Time

I called a number in Halifax this time, and it was a bloke. He took all the details, Again and was atleast sympathetic to my plight. He asked my online Sign in name and I told it was ********. He said it's not correct, eventhough I was staring it right in front of me, and has nothing to do with my query! and asked me to call back later.

Fourth Time

This time I called the Online help desk again (after 5 PM) and it went to a Indian Call centre ! I held my nerve and reasoned , it can't be worse than my previous attempts ! The guy took my details and I told him "One of my Two credit card ONLINE accounts was not working"

He said "go to your online account" "delete both your accounts !"

oh my god ! This fellow is mad ! He doesn't know what he is doing ! being paranoid I thought I'am going to lose all my *******.

I bit my tongue and did what he told !

He said "now add your accounts back !" and Voila ! both my credit card ONLINE accounts were working ! and this was over in 6 minutes !

Moral of the story

I would rather call a Indian call centre first, and hedge my bets, rather than call a local call centre !

  1. because they don't have a clue what they are talking about.
  2. Local call centres employ people with a few GCSEs and no technical knowledge.
  3. Indian call centres employ people with professional qualifications , who are very good at technical Know how.

Thanks for that. It's just the language barrier that's the problem... but that goes for a lot of Scottish ones too.

I had a terrible experience of a foreign call centre, poor standards, poor security, poor service. I complained to the UK company centre, when I found the details.

And I would have complained about anyone who gave poor service.
