ISA income tax

Can someone please confirm whether income taken from an ISA is tax free?

Yes it is. The IR site would be best for such a confirmation.

To the individual the income is tax free and need not be declared, but tax is paid internally on funds that at predominantly (60% + ) equity based.

Sorry I might have been unclear. If I have an ISA that pays monthly income do I pay tax on the income I draw from that ISA?

Yep, that's the whole point of ISAs!

So you say, but the whole point of ISAs when they started was that they were totally tax free. However, they now are not (albeit the income you receive in your hand does not have further tax to pay.).
