ISA operations

Hello,

I have an ISA at Northern Rock in the UK, however I do not live there anymore, Can I transfer funds from abroad to my ISA?

Also, can I take the funds out of my ISA without any problems, even if I'm not a UK resident anymore (I'm not a UK national)?

Thank you for your answers.

as far as I know you can't add to an isa if you're no longer resident. You can withdraw from it with no problems.

Ok, thank you very much!

but if I added to my ISA through an account in the UK, would there be any problem?

Only if you got found out and you could then lose the ISA wrapper completely.

I agree. As far as I understand at the end of each tax year all those who run ISA's have to inform the inland revenue of the NI numbers. If you've already gone non-resident for tax purposes I would expect alarm bells to start ringing at this point at the revenue, as the above poster mentioned, you may well lose the tax free status at that point.
