Where do we go to check out this "successful trader"'s track record? I've been reading a lot about the efficient market (as described by people like Fama and Malkiel) which suggest that 80% of active traders do worse than an index tracker, and that people that do well up to a certain point in time don't necessarily do well afterwards. I wouldn't want to risk my money on such a scheme. How would you put my mind at rest?
You're surely not considering investing in a scheme advertised on a newsgroup?
I wouldn't not invest in a scheme simply because it was advertised on a newsgroup.

There are right and wrong places to advertise many things. To me, investing in a scheme promoted on a newsgroup is like finding a date on a toilet wall or buying insurance from a stranger in a pub. It might work out ok, but the odds are against it.
