I'm thinking of applying for a new visa card - 'swanage railway platinum plus credit card with mbna europe bank ltd'.....anyone know whether they are easy to get or is this one of the tougher ones to get accepted for? I've an excellent credit history but have just changed my job so cuurent employment history is only 5 months.

You could try applying in the name of your dog ... ;)
I've never heard of a difficult-to-get MBNA affiliate card, but I s'pose they might exist. Changing job (in and of itself, and backed by a good credit history) is extremely unlikely to be a barrier.
