Its time you were taken to court, you've been sponging on the country far too long, pretending to be a writer , poet and general do gooder, youre nothing but a drunk, living on welfare who cant get a decent job because of your personality disorder....I am of course now genuflecting as I write this, fully aware of your voilent nature, jungle bunnies like you should be shipped back to Africa.

Send them a letter, registered post, outlining that if they ever contact you again, by letter or telephone, you will deem it to be personal harrassment, which is:

1) Breach of Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970 2) Breach of the Protection from Harassment Act 1997 3) Breach of the Wireless Telegraphy Act (1949)

Also tell them that you'll report them to both Trading Standards and the OFT, which will mean they be liable to a substantial fine.

Finish off by telling them that any and all future telephone calls will be recorded AND any further post returned unopened.

Difficult to prove harrassment by post if you've returned the item.

Stay cool. Treat their missives as you would treat spam, and save your powder and shot for better things.

If they had the slightest intention to take you to court, they would have done so long ago.

Firms like Moorcroft buy up names and addresses from organisations who have claims for alleged debt but know they don't have a legal leg to stand on, but can still recover something by selling the claim on.

Then the Moorcrofts of this world work on a percentage basis sending out crap through the mail to get a percentage of their correspondents to pay up something just to get rid of them. You know how spam works - all it requires is a percentage of those mailed to pay them something, and they are still in business.

It must be a wretched way to make a living, but there you are.

The best way to deal with them is to ignore them.

If, and when, they take you to court, you know what to do anyway. But the likelihood of that is so remote that if they thought they had a claim they - and the firm from whom they bought their alleged 'debt' - would have done so long ago.

By the way, how much time of a decent solicitor do you reckon they would get for £30 to represent them in court? Not enough to justify their taking the case, of course.

And if they thought that the small claims process would help them, why would they not have used it long ago?

Good Luck.

I know sending a letter doesn't involve much wire, but I hardly think harrassment by letter quite amounts to a breach of the WTA.

Or try s77-s79 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974. List out the things in there they are required to tell you. Ask them to tell you them.

In my experience, they always go away when you do that.

My original post quoted both communication by letter and telephone.

I gave up alcohol in 1986. You didn't get any of the others right either you f****it.

Hi, I'm not the slightest bit worried by these retards but thank you kindly for you thoughtful comments; here is what I told them. I've no doubt they're tried it on again thinking I've binned the correspondence. I haven't.

To whom it may concern,

I have this week received yet another letter from you. After your letter of October 19, 2007 I contacted the police and was told that in the event of receiving anymore such letters I should file a complaint. Below the dotted line is the E-mail I sent you at that time.

Desist at once, or take the consequences.

---------------------------

I refer to your letter of October 19, 2007, account number B5942436; I suggest you read this letter and act on its contents to avoid further embarrassment.

In 1993, the Metropolitan Police arrested me and seized my computer after a malicious allegation. When I got it back it was damaged beyond repair, so with the help of Legal Aid I sued them and settled out of court for a modest £2000. Their lawyers spent the next two and a half years haggling over the bill of costs including submitting 193 points of dispute. I received my money eventually but my legal team had to do a great deal of unpaid work in order for me to get it.   The police are able to get away with such nonsense because they are a public body, and it is the public that picks up the tab. Your client is not; your client has shareholders, and it has already wasted hundreds of pounds chasing this phantom debt. In the event of this case being pursued through the courts your client will lose even more of its shareholders? money, and will have to explain to them why. Don?t make idle threats against me, as I told you before I am not a frightened little old lady who can be intimidated by red ink and the suggestion that the police will turn up on my doorstep.

Your client has already had more money out of me than it deserves, and has caused me a great deal of aggravation into the bargain. You will not get another penny, do you understand, not one penny? You may though if you persist obtain a lot of free publicity, because a consumer magazine has already expressed an interest in this case perhaps hearing echoes in it of the recent case of Professor Stephen Martin and similar victims of your client?s creative accounting.

My advice to your client is to desist forthwith. Any legal action will be fought in the courts and your client will lose. Any further non- legal action such as continued demands will be regarded as harassment, a criminal offence, and action taken accordingly. That means against you, not against your client.

Now for the final time, and I do mean THE final time, sod off and don?t bother me again.
