Most usable online dealing website?

I was one of Imiweb's oldest customers and at one time I even had their executives phoning me up to see how I liked the service.

Since then, they have gone down the pan. They redesigned the site and now everything takes many mouse clicks, and is slow to boot.

They stopped sending out PDF contract notes and corp action notifications, so I now have to waste a lot of time logging in, and waste yet more time printing them out. I have just wasted half an hour printing out a load of contract notes - so many mouse clicks to achieve something which used to be simple.

And their "customer service" has gone down the pan. A few times I have asked them to clear out a particular holding (which cannot be sold because it's value fell down to nearly zero and is no longer traded) so I can write it off. Nothing has been done; it's still sitting there.

It's also time consuming to check out the graphs for a share and then go back to deal in it, via the portfolio listing. It takes ages (on a

512k ADSL line) to list a portfolio of 30 stocks. One used to be able to have Imiweb open in one browser and look up various companies and then buy or sell, but now it's really clumsy.

The website is getting so inconvenient to use there is little point now. Every year I sell enough to gain the CGT limit, so I am gradually going to sell up and when I do I won't be doing any buys through them.

What a shame to see a good business go so badly wrong.

I have also used James Brierley (for both a business portfolio and my SIPP) and they have been much better - but they don't really do any foreign stocks (Cisco, etc) as online trades. That was Imiweb's strong point when they started. JB are OK and I had to use them for Sippdeal and for the limited company dealing account anyway.

A friend uses some Luxembourg based trading site and that one is even worse...

Can anyone suggest another firm I could look at?
