online stockbrokers which is best value in uk?

I'm not a very frequent trader, and just want a broker where I can add shares to buy and hold when I have a bit of spare money and I think something offers good value.

I really don't want to get hit with inactivity fees if I decide not to trade for a few months, yet I want to get cheap trading when I do trade. I'm only really trading UK listed stocks / ETFs etc.

The ability to set limit orders, and trailing stop orders would be good.

Which is the best value broker in UK for this sort of account?

Cheers

John

Selftrade.co.uk is good on everything you've said.

Chris

motleyfool is good. Especially if you're not planning to "time the market". IIUC, at the moment buying in the ShareBuilder is free, usually it's 1.50 per trade.

Tim.

God said, "div D = rho, div B = 0, curl E = - @B/@t, curl H = J + @D/@t," and there was light.

Thanks Tim, and it was very refreshing to see the real Mr Maxwell being quoted in a place where his namesake must feature more often! Nice one.
