Does anyone know of any basic non-status bank / building society passbook or ATM accounts that can be used by a sole trader? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Depends if you tell them your a "sole trader" and not a personal account holder, but with experiance I would avoid A&L and Woolwich/Barclays at all costs.

Nat west direct business bank account. My credit history is worse than robert maxwell. With it you get cheque book, solo card, online banking. I'm a sole trader I opened it within 30 mins at a local branch in sussex. Martin John Concannon

How bad? CCJs/defaults/bankruptcy?
Thanks for your reply.
