Power of Financial Ombudsman

Jan 22, 2004 2 Replies

We as a company resigned from The FSA 8 years ago.If a financial award is made against my firm by the Ombudsman on behalf of a person who has complained, what powers has the Ombudsman to enforce that award. Can the Ombudsman take me to court or is it up to the former client. I would like to think I could have my day in court to argue my own case. This may prove to be expensive but I feel it would be less bias and give me a fighting chance.

Any experience out there in this field?

Does the FOS have jurisdiction to consider complaints against a firm which resigned in 1996 ?
