Powergen>Amerada takeover

Hi all, i saw a post further up the line on this subject but missed most of it.

I've just received my letter from Powergen who have now taken over amerada's customers.

The letter tries to disguise the fact that they are notifying customers of a change of terms and conditions,the most important of which is the price.

I have revisited the uswithc site but it is still unclear to me what my best option is. It is plain that Powergens prices are higher than Amerada but if im taking duel fuel,can anyone suggest the cheapest supplier?

The problem is further clouded by the fact that energy suppliers try to confuse by quoting rates in different units,dont always make clear whether this includes vat or not etc etc..

It is very confusing the way suppliers have different rates and tiers for units. Your best bet is still with uswitch. If you put in your actual usage per year or month and then view by cheapest then that will give you best supplier in your area.

I was just about to go off Powergen/Amerda after the change, but another search on uswitch a few days later suprised me in that they were still the cheapest in my area.

They seem to be the cheapest for Electricity by far (Even [slightly] cheaper than Ameradas old Online Dual Fuel rates).

The letter and accompanying leaflet I have say nothing about prices. This should mean that no price change is involved. Am I right? (I am an Amerada Online electricity customer.)

I have tried to find Powergens tarriffs on their web site without success. All they give me is that they cannot offer me any savings!

I thought that OfGem had mad erules about this years ago but finding any actual prices is now very difficult.
