Can anyone explain to me what a Pro Forma is and when it should be used ?

Because it does not apply. The definition you cited was for an adjective or adverb. Paul asked for a noun.

"A Pro Forma" usually means a pro-forma invoice, which is typically issued in addition to a "normal" invoice, for some specific purpose, usually to certify to customs officials the value of goods being shipped.

I was making a point.

ok, so the online version is a bit basic.

He still could have looked it up in a dictionary.

I found his question to be vague, in a manner associated with someone who hadn't done the slightest bit of research first.

Someone who had a homework question to answer perhaps.
