Haven't the Government already stated that Jedi wouldn't be included on the next census form as an official religion?

Ah, but any numerate person can "account". Then they *are* an "accountant"...
And you can account for things other than money.
You really should not believe what you hear in pubs.
Surely it is not enough that they *can*, they actually have to *do*.
OK, the bit about the Jedi was a joke. But what is to stop you starting a church, mosque, temple...

It's easy enough to do a quick ten-minute bit of "accounting", just before signing the form to say that you're an "accountant", isn't it? ;-)
Yes, but that wouldn't make you an accountant.
An accountant is someone who spends most of their working time doing accounting.

Don't be silly. Many high-flying accountants move into senior management, or even join the boards of large companies. Even though they no longer "spend most of their working time doing accounting", they are *still* accountants...
But that wont make you an accountant.

If you are saying they were accountants and now they are a managing director and do not do any accounting then you are the silly one ... they are not doing accounting so they are not accountants.
I was a student and even now I study legislation or problems but if I called myself a student it would not be correct.

390,000 people put Jedi as their religion on the last census form.
All you have to do is keep accounts. Does not say anything about what of or how good they must be.
accountant n noun a person who keeps or inspects financial accounts.
ORIGIN Middle English: from legal French, present participle of Old French aconter (see account).
I inspected my financial accounts, thus I am an accountant.
If you studied then you are a student. Just not a student of an established centre of learning.
Use the language, stop trying to change it:

Ø[as modifier] denoting someone who is studying to enter a particular profession: a student nurse. 2 a person who takes a particular interest in a subject: a student of the free market.DERIVATIVES studentship noun (British). studenty adjective (British informal).
